Existential Landscape

by Anton Apchekhov

Artistically depicted and thought-provoking imageries on porcelain.

Anton Apchekhov produced this series of intriguing visuals with intention to play with a kind of what she (yes, Anton Apchekhov is she — surprise!) called postpostmodernism. “Existential Landscape” is a set of symbols which are more or less known to everyone but the way these symbols are combined and presented allows us to see something new. Or maybe not, it’s allright too.

This gallery is a mental kitchen. Various ingredients are already here, we can use them for preparing our own meals and constructing any recipes we want to experiment with. There are no any specific clues given in order to adjust in any way our mental cooking process. Except for one probably — the author’s choice of medium. All the images of the “Existential Landscape” are placed on porcelain plates, and it seems to be a kind of hint. Or maybe not.
