The Fabricated Landscape

by Lori Nix

Highly detailed dioramas inspired by storms, floods, collisions, breakdowns, and other incidents. Disasters of a table scale.

A plane nearly crashed — it’s just a second before it is inevitably going to happen. Small town houses are completely flooded — there are only roofs above the water. Somebody drowned. Another person is lost. There is a wildfire, here is a shipwreck. Terrible things happen around.

Lori Nix diminished them all. It is a matter of scale: when a tragedy gets so small, you become big, much bigger than it.
