Signs of Life

by Jason Michael Durham

When a trip is conceptual, even road signs begin to work in strange, interesting and uncommon ways.

The author calls this “a conceptual road trip about life and death taken in the deserts of Nevada and California in 2010”. We can not disagree with this statement but also have to add that in actual fact this work contains a huge variety of meanings. The unconventional combination of lonely landscapes and fragments of highway markings allows the viewer to draw dozens of parallels and make lots of conclusions.
