A mix which consists exclusively of the 56 STUFF artists’ music. Idiosync intended to create a “continuous tension” and to express his understanding of 56 STUFF sound through his favorite tracks.

“I first heard 56STUFF’s output in 1998. Back then it was predominantly lo-fi tracker music. I got carried away by its spontaneity and a nonchalant attitude towards mainstream. I started making music mostly under its influence.

Since then I’ve been following the development of this creative community. The number of participating musicians kept on growing. The label’s releases were becoming more versatile, regularly providing me with new favorite tracks. Ever since I began playing and recording my own mixes, the idea to put together a mix of 56STUFF music was getting more and more attractive.

Initially I intended to gather compositions from all the 56STUFF musicians. But while selecting tracks I realized that it is more significant to create a continuous musical tension. In order to achieve that I often supreimposed two tracks on each other in their entirety. I also wanted to express my personal understanding of the 56STUFF sound by only playing my all-time favorites; and, for instance, four of them were by Yellowhead alone. That should explain how the obvious hits, such as 8bit’s “Haywadana!!” got to the same mix with the hardly known works, like the Bookadehuk’s track from his self-released album.

I believe that recording this mix in the year when 56STUFF turns twelve is symbolic. After all, twelve times four point six hundred sixty six thousand six hundred sixty six equals fifty six!”.
