The 8bit band was formed in 2001, became widely known in art circles of Western Siberia, visited Berlin with a live performance, released a track on Clubtransemediale music compilation and then finished its bright existence.
Live performances of 8bit were conceptually analog and retro futuristic. Three old noisy 8-bits drum-machines, which were not commuted and hard to synchronize. All data was stored in operating memory and was deleted after the machines were unplugged. Retro futuristic stories about robots and computers recorded in the soviet times played on the turntables. Separate words and complete phrases in Japanese were yelled by the girl named Haikoo. Sometimes it was electro, sometimes techno, sometimes noise, but, in general, rather techno, Dirty Analog Techno.
The most important 8bit live acts:
Multimedia festival Per Gunt; Museum Night (Krasnoyarsk Museum Centre)
Symposium V (Kemerovo)
Electronic music festival SiberiaGermany Transit (NovosibirskKrasnoyarskTomsk)
