Zimmer-G

Zimmer-G

Music which descends from lack of music and gets inspiration from more or less old times.

Zimmer-G

Ivan Voltanov, the man behind Zimmer-G, has a soft spot for all things retro. This proclivity helps him to find there, in the past, interesting but forgotten pieces of music and bring them — in a new, modified form — to here, in the present.

The usage of samples in this case — and Zimmer-G utilizes them a lot, whether or not obvious — comes from deep admiration and respect for the authors of the originals.

Speaking of whom, let’s imagine: your favorite artist radically switched the style, or quit music making, or forgot to release his early material. You are in lack of the music you like! What to do? Zimmer-G found the answer for himself as a listener: he fills the gap with his own tunes.

Another interesting thing about Ivan Voltanov is that there is a whole band performing inside his head. This band is imaginary for now, but some day it could become real. We definitely can expect that: from the very beginning, Zimmer-G was always inviting real guest musicians to be a part of his working process.

He also always invites everyone to be a part of his audience. And this is an invitation that we definitely should accept.
